Can you believe it is October already? I for one am having trouble believing it with this weather teetering between 90 degrees and 60 degrees. Come on, should I break out the soups and sweatshirts or still sport my flip flops and t-shirts? I’m confused. I’ve held off on my Fall decorations until today that is. I just can’t help myself. The weather may be muggy and hot outside, but the calendar says it’s Fall, so inside, we’re celebrating!
You guys know I don’t like to invest in a lot of complicated projects. I like my food and DIY projects to be quick, easy, and instantly gratifying. This easy little project fits that bill. It took me all but five minutes to throw together, especially since I had all of the supplies on hand.
I love the colors in candy corn, but not really the flavors or the ingredients in them, so I created a cute play on candy corn to put a little splash of color in my kitchen with this food filled mason jar.
How to Create a Candy Corn Inspired Mason Jar
It’s not rocket science here, folks. I simply filled a large mason jar with the following:
Yellow: Yellow popcorn
Orange: Red lentils
White: White beans
I finished it off with some thick twine tied in a bow. Rafia would be really cute tied on top too, but I didn’t have any of that on hand, and Momma doesn’t have time to run ten million errands to complete one simple craft. I just made do with what I had, and I think it turned out pretty stinkin’ cute. You could fill all different sizes of jars or vases for an interesting display. A triangular shaped vase would be especially pretty! Easy peasy, huh?
