I think most homes have them. You get mail, bills, or important documents that need to be dealt with and in an effort to not forget about them, you put them on the kitchen counter so they are in sight. Suddenly that one piece of mail is covered by another and another and another until you have a full fledged JUNK PILE!
Ours was getting way out of control and I was sooooo over it.
I found these amazing plans from The Elusive Bobbin for a kitchen command center. How gorgeous is this?
Honestly, I’m still working towards that, but I have MANY projects ahead of that one, like finishing my barstools that my hubby made and refinishing the rest of my dining set. I’m not ready to add another project to the mix yet.
So in the mean time, I still needed a solution.
I went to the Dollar Tree and found these baskets for a dollar a piece.
My husband bolted them to the wall, and bada bing bada boom, we have instant easy mail baskets. NO MORE JUNK PILE for the mail and bills!
And it cost me a whopping $2! FRUGAL AND FUNCTIONAL!
Right now they hang in my kitchen above my kids’ magnetic chore chart made from an old cookie sheet.
Do you have a junk pile? If you don’t, how do you tame it?
