When you are first starting out making changes to your diet and health, it can be very difficult sifting through information and products to find out what you like. I thought it would be helpful to make a list of items that I recommend. These are all products that I fully endorse and use in my own home. Some of these links (but not all) are affiliate links, and if you make a purchase through the link I make a small commission, at no additional cost to you.
Coconut oil: Wilderness Family Naturals. This is the best price that I have found on high quality coconut oil. They often run sales around Christmas, so I buy a gallon of the expeller pressed and a gallon of the virgin for the year.
Salt: Redmond Real Salt is my favorite brand.
Meat: Local meat humanely raised on pasture will be your best bet when it comes to healthy animal products at a good price. Search the Eat Wild database for farms in your area. If you can’t find a farm, I recommend Tendergrass farms. You can purchase high quality grass fed beef, beyond organic chicken, and pastured pork products.
Produce: I always recommend growing as much produce in your yard as possible. If that’s not an option for you, search the Local Harvest website for farms, markets, and co-ops near you.
Kombucha: Kombucha is so easy to make at home and much cheaper than the bottled kind in the store. If you are wanting to get started brewing your own, I recommend Kombucha Kamp for their high quality SCOBYs and great education.
Kefir grains, sourdough starters, yogurt cultures: I have had the best luck asking around in Facebook groups or Craigslist for extra healthy active cultures, but if you can’t find any, I’ve had decent luck with Cultures for Health.
Household cleaners: Making my own is the only truly clean products I have found.
Soap: Dr. Bronners castile soap can be used diluted in foam dispenser for easy hand washing, body washing, or dish washing.
Makeup, skincare, lotion, shampoo: I personally use NYR Organic for all of my skincare now. Products that I use: Rose shampoo and conditioner, Bee Lovely lotion, Frankincense refining cleanser, Frankincense Intense Cream, eye liner, mascara, and homemade cheek stain. If you are looking for a discount, email me about signing up as a consultant to receive a discount. No minimum sales, no pressure to sell.
Toothpaste/Oral Care: I use OraWellness’ Healthy Mouth blend for brushing, flossing, and swishing for mouthwash. We occasionally use Earthpaste as well. I’m also a fan of oil pulling (swishing) with coconut oil for healthy teeth and gums.
Essential oils: Plant Therapy is my current choice of oils for the quality, education, and affordability.
Seeds: Seeds Now is absolutely amazing. High quality, non-GMO, amazing heirloom seeds, awesome education, and fabulous people. Plus their seed packs are CHEAP at 99 cents a pack!
